I had the most kind and wonderful experience dealing with the passing of my mom. Norma, the Funeral Director was so easy going.. Picking a crematorium while grieving is extremely difficult. Glancing at past reviews we picked coastal crematorium without Further reviewing other places.

Initially I called about a month and a half before my mom passed as recommended by someone and when I called to get information so I was prepared. I was told that I could not do anything at that time to just enjoy my mother and when she passed to call. She just wanted me off the phone basically stating it was her day off. So needless to say I wasn't prepared at the worst time in my life.

Follow up to this story: The owner, Mr. Miller of Coastal Cremations reached out to me about this review. He was unaware of the situation . He has since corrected the problem and I would recommend Coastal Cremations to anyone . Thank you Mr Miller!

My first call to gather information in preparation for my father's cremation. Norma is patient, kind and full of information. I immediately felt - this was the place. I made a pre-arrangement appointment as we were days away. Norma and Veronica were kind, gentle, patient and allowed light hearted memories to fill the room. After my father died, Marilyn and Amber (home removal) arrived at the absolute perfect time - not too fast, not too slow. This is the best funeral home to go to. Katie is the nicest person ever. She helped me with my mom and dads cremation. The prices are much better than many places around her. They offer a prepayment plan too which i will be using.

My grandmother passed away recently. I stopped into Coastal Cremations and James and Tom were very kind and helpful. I was surprised that the facility was so nice and clean. It doesn’t look like a typical funeral home that is somber and out dated. Definitely the place to go to take care of your love ones that have passed.

Everyone was very kind, not pushy and very compassionate. I love the fact that they actually care, and it just felt like they understand. The passing of a loved one is, in itself, a sad and solemn time. It is often more devastating when they take their own life, as Jay did. At these times it is so comforting to work with compassionate and caring people, when making those final arrangements. I was blessed to have Tom and Adam work with me through this process. The have the experience and knowledge that is needed. As I was by myself taking care of this, they made sure I was ok, provided tissues and water, and made sure they explained every aspect of the process. I found out about coastal cremations from the hospice nurse that started to take care of my dad. Tried looking into and couldn’t get onto the website so I just called the Jacksonville office and talked to Tom and he said that he would personally take care of us once my dad did end up passing which I thought was really nice.
When my dad did end up passing where he was at contacted coastal cremation and they came and got my dad and brought him I’m guessing to the facility and did what they needed to do and I contacted Tom and we set up a time to go over the paperwork.
The day we went in to go over paperwork and what not was obviously a hard day but Tom made it easy and showed us our options and was very reasonable with us as this is and was a hard time for us! Went today to pick up my dads urn and Tom carried him out to my car and buckled him in for me.

The most difficult time in my life was guided and eased by the experienced and thoughtful staff at Coastal; especially Cheyenne. In the end, expenses were as quoted and a couple were even less. At no junction, was I pushed or hurried. All elements and options were thoroughly explained. My sincere and highest recommendation.

In the beginning of the process to make arrangements for our dearly departed, Kindal was outstanding. He made the hard situation a little easier to go through. The prices were extremely reasonable and about 1/2 the price of other places around EXCEPT the memorial cards and bookmarks we feel were over priced; but chose to pay for the convenience.

We did have some issues, however, David, the owner, called me ery quickly and personally to discuss the problems we had. He treated me with such compassion and respect. He took the time to discuss things with me and never rushed me off the phone. The things that happened, he explained are not their policy and he was saddened and disappointed they occurred. They are things he planned to address and handle personally.

Let me state, the issues that occurred had nothing to do with the handling of our loved one. That was all handled exceptionally well.

After speaking with David, I felt very happy with the results, the plan of action in rectifying the situation, and the fact they he came to my home personally to take care of things.

No matter where you go or what you do, nothing can be perfect. I feel that if something positive happens from a mistake than it is worth it. David's opinion was those things should NEVER have happened and I love that he expects his clients to receive top-notch care. I'm very pleased and will definitely recommend Coastal Cremations to others.

My father passed away unexpectedly at the New Hanover Medical Center, at the end of a week vacation at Holden Beach. Since we are not from the Wilmington area, we had no idea who to trust with arrangements. We did some searching online and came across Coastal Cremations. This all occurred on a Sunday. Kindal Blanks returned our call very quickly and immediately walked us through our options. He gave us such confidence that everything would be handled while comforting us and helping us to not feel so lost. Losing a loved one is never easy. Coastal Cremations made this difficult time of hurt very easy on my family. I would like to thank Kendal, i’ve never felt so much compassion from a funeral director before. I was kind of skeptical about this place judging it from the outside but this is the true definition of don’t judge a book by its cover!

Be cautious about first impressions from the exterior. Inside there was warmth, compassion, and professionalism. Kindal made a difficult and emotional situation much easier. We actually had a few moments of laughter due to our comfort with Kindal. He offered his private number in case we had questions later that night. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We chose to have my father cremated so that we could transport his remains to Mexico City, but Coastal told us they can also arrange for a full burial and memorial service if that's what we wanted. I contacted Cheryl about three weeks before my Mother died. She immediately emailed me with a list of information that I would need to provide for the death certificate. I was prepared for the day my Mother did die. Because of Cheryl, I felt a lot less pressure than if I had to research all the information right after my Mother died.

Cheryl and John were wonderful with all of our family members who contacted them. On a Saturday without warning my sister came to the location on Grand Blvd in New Port Richey. Cheryl arranged a viewing of the ashes for her and her husband. Now that is service particularly on a Saturday with no warning!
